 LA TOMATINAThis is the only home of the Tomato throwing ritual held in Bunol on the last Wednesday in August each year.
What an experience ! we went with friends Glenn & Angie in 2005 and the atmosphere is unbelievable...not possible to put in words...you've got to be there. One of those things you should do at least once in your life!
We will gladly drop you off and collect you later in the day...fully covered in tomatoes and dripping wet !
Bunol is only 20 minutes from us so an ideal base...tie this in with the Bull Running in our local town (Vilamarxant) as they can both be done in a week.
 BULL RUNNING
Yes Bull Running ! Through the streets of our town....another experience you must see. Watch local men ( & women) take their chances at keeping out of the bulls reach.
Our Spanish friends provide a 'safe haven' which is right in the centre of all the action. This happens for 8 days around the start of the third week in August. It can start at 2.00pm and continues through until the next morning.You've got to be there for this one too.....words cant describe what goes on !
CYCLING
We are situated in a great area for you keen road cyclists, the Spanish love their cycling and therefore this area with it's undulations and beautiful scenery make it the perfect place for a cycling holiday.
RELAXING
Of course not everyone wants lots of activities on their holiday and if you just want to relax, read, laze in the pool and of course sunbathe, then this is the place to do just that!
MOTOR CYCLING/F1 RACING
We are just 8km from the famous Ricardo Torno Circuit at Cheste. This is Valencia's pride & joy as they are into motor bike racing in a big way. The circuit is host to the last race of the Moto GP season, World Superbikes and also the World Touring Car Championship plus many more events. You can get more information by logging on to

Valencia is to host its first Formla One Grand Prix next year (2008), and although the City already has a racing circuit ,Valencia and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone have decided on a street race. This will take place in the port area and will be the highlight of the 2008 season. There are large Supermarkets at Lliria and also a very large retail park just 15 minute drive away towards Valencia..fantastic shops, selling everything with definitely lower prices than UK. The shopping area is very large and has many different places to eat....you could spend all day there!

Smaller shops can be found in local villages together with their market days, our local village (Vilamarxant) has some interesting shops scattered amongst its many tiny streets.
The town of Lliria is a ten minute drive away and has many historical places of interest as it dates back centuries. Lliria has its own market and many shops together with a covered market selling vegetables, meats & fresh fish.
The towns of Cheste,Chiva, Ribarroja are all within 15 minutes along with lots of other places of real interest, don't forget this is still a 'Real Spain' area and not heaving with tourists.
Although Valencia is quickly becoming more popular than its two larger City rivals (Madrid and Barcelona), it has a totally different feel to it. Once you have been you will want to return and savour some more.
To get into the City is very easy, the best way is to drive (or be taken) 10 minutes to a railway station and the 20 minutes later you are in the centre, right next to the bullring. Train cost is a whopping 1.90€ return. Once in the City there are so many shops you will be spoilt for choice, all leading retailers are present, the great thing is there are plenty of independant shops too, so its not like any other city you have visited.
